By submitting your work in response to this open call, you acknowledge, agree to abide by and accept the following:

 

 

Selection Criteria

 

Selection will be based on:

Technique / skill of calligraphy 40%
Design / visual balance 40%
Creativity 20%

 

The selection panel is led by the organiser, Ruth Tan, Creative Chief of The Workroom, and consists of the following members: Associate Professor Ludwig Tan, Vice Dean, Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences, Singapore University of Social Sciences, Dao Huy Hoang, Calligrapher, Ong Fang Zheng, administrator of Facebook group Calligraphers Singapore, Desiree Tham, Artist and Manager of The Workroom.

 

Your postcard should:

• be secured/ sealed in an envelope and are to include a separate slip with your name, contact number and email address
• be no larger than A6 size, i.e. 4.1” x 5.8”
• include the name of a recipient and an address.

Please note that for sake of safety and privacy, real addresses of private individuals must not be used.

Also, entries that include explicit profanity, obscenity or undesirable suggestive elements will be immediately disqualified and disposed of.

 

Submission

All entries must be submitted in the original in hardcopy by mail to our studio on or before 5PM 15 Nov 2017:

We are not responsible for lost mail or mail that do not reach us by the deadline.

 

 

Rights & Ownership

The Workroom retains the rights to hold, photograph and use your work with credit on our platforms, including but not exclusive to our domain http://theworkroom.sg, Facebook page and Instagram account solely for the purpose of announcement and event publicity.

You retain the ownership of your work and may choose to have it returned to you — at the point of submission, simply include a self-addressed envelope with sufficient postage stamp(s) on it.

 

 

Results

Results of the panels’ selection will be announced on 25 Nov 2017 on our domain http://theworkroom.sg, Facebook page and Instagram account.

All decisions are final and not subject to discussion or reconsideration.
