'@Canal' This new and bigger walk-up studio in an old commercial building is accessible to students only by the stairs up to the 5th level.
Each maker receives a Maker's Tote. After every workshop, makers also take home the curated Craft Kit of the day, along with their completed craft/art pieces.
Who will be teaching these workshops?
We are a small team of artists and crafters. This Makers' Camp is designed by Ruth, who is a former school teacher, and also Mom to a teen, a tween and a toddler. She is the lead instructor in the Makers' Camp programme.
Do you have a minimum age requirement? Are children split into different age groups?
The minimum age requirement is 7 years; we will accept children age 5 and 6 if they are accompanied and assisted by a parent/adult helper throughout the entire session. Children will be grouped when/if necessary in different age groups. Older children and teens can be assigned complex projects. During hands-on session, they can choose to work independently at their favourite corner of the studio.
Do you provide any snacks?
Yes, we have available light bites, juice and water that children can help themselves to during breaks. Parents are welcome to pack a suitable snack for them, especially for children with any special dietary need.
Can I choose any 3 or more workshops across all the dates? Or am I restricted to the dates within the same week?
You can pick any date you like, across all the dates/weeks listed. Every day's project is different. You can sign your children up the same topic on different days and they will work on a new craft each time.
Am I allowed to sign up for more than one "Watercolour Brush Lettering" session?
Yes, children signed up for more than 1 session of the same title will be enjoying different project challenges in the subsequent sessions. Don't worry, they won't be repeating the same material!
Is the class fun? Do you have rules?
We design each project to stir up the makers' creative juices, train them to be observant, and to pick up a new skill. We do expect everyone to be respectful of others and to listen attentively to instructions. Please note that we do not allow them to use handphones or other mobile devices during the workshops.
Do you issue certificates? Can my child learn to become an artist in this programme?
We do not issue certificates as this is not a formal education programme. We would be happy to share with you our observations of your child's preferences, style and improvement. We are not in a hurry for anyone to become an artist, but we are eager to nurture that creative spark in your children!
Your mobile number is required for text messaging only. Email and/or text message (SMS or WhatsApp) is sent to all participants before the commencement of this workshop.
